Terms of Use

Effective August 21, 2026

These terms cover Scrolls — the web reader and any later app — and this website, biblescrolls.app. Bible Scrolls App, LLC (“we,” “us”), a Texas limited liability company, runs them. Using Scrolls means you agree. If you don’t, please don’t use Scrolls.

1. What Scrolls is

Scrolls is a Bible reading app: Scripture (including the Hebrew and Greek), bookmarks, highlights, notes, search, an optional account that syncs your content, and an optional AI study assistant. You must be 13 or older to use it.

2. Your account

An account is optional. You create one with your email and a one-time code. Keep that inbox safe — anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Delete it any time from the account panel.

3. Your content

Your notes, highlights, bookmarks, and chats are yours. We do not claim them. When you sync, you give us permission only to store, back up, send, and show that content so Scrolls works for you. Nothing else. That permission ends for anything you delete. We do not read it to improve Scrolls.

4. AI answers

The assistant is a machine (xAI’s Grok), not a person. We ground it in the Scripture text when we can. It is a study help. It is not your pastor, your church, or your community, and it is not meant to take their place. Still:

5. Be decent

Don’t abuse Scrolls. You agree not to:

6. Scripture texts and our work

The texts in Scrolls — the King James Version, the Westminster Leningrad Codex, and the Textus Receptus — are in the public domain. We claim no rights over God’s word. Scrolls, this website, our formatting, alignment data, and software belong to Bible Scrolls App, LLC.

7. Stopping

You can stop using Scrolls, or delete your account, any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. We may change or end features as Scrolls grows. Sections 3, 6, 8, and 9 still apply after you stop.

8. No promises we can’t keep

Scrolls is provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranties — including that it is fit for a particular purpose or will never err. It may pause. Synced data may be lost. Your copy on your device is still yours.

9. If something goes wrong

To the fullest extent the law allows, Bible Scrolls App, LLC is not liable for indirect or punitive damages, or for lost data, from your use of Scrolls. Our total liability for any claim is the greater of fifty U.S. dollars ($50) or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. App stores

If you get Scrolls from Apple’s App Store, these terms are between you and Bible Scrolls App, LLC — not Apple. Apple does not have to support Scrolls and is not responsible for claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries. The same idea applies to any other store that later carries Scrolls.

11. Texas law

Texas law governs these terms, without its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Texas. You agree to those courts.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The current version lives at biblescrolls.app/terms, with the date at the top. Real changes will be easy to see. Using Scrolls after a change means you accept it.
